        Satterfield, DPM, FACFAOM, MAPWCA, became
        dean on May 1, 2019.
“We have been able to recruit a second-to-none
group of faculty members who have grown and
developed over the last 10 years to really be
superb,” Jones said. “I think leaving the
institution in their hands, there is no doubt we
have a great foundation that we built for the
college. Dr. Satterfield has the skills and abilities
to move the college to the next level — going
from good to great. The team that is assembled
around Dr. Satterfield are all professionals that
have been working together for the past five to
10 years. Everyone knows and performs their
individual role well and work both cohesively
        and collegially.”

At Jones’ retirement party, his wife Viletta
shared memories of late nights waiting for her
husband to come home from work.

“His heart has always been in teaching. It was
important for him to be there for his students,” she said.
