Helping future doctors attain their wishes

College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (COMP) alumnus Maged
Samaan, DO ’92, appreciates the opportunity COMP gave him to fulfill his
goal to become an osteopathic physician, and he finds it rewarding to see
how far the campus has come.

He graduated from COMP in 1992, completed his family medicine residency
at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, and now runs a successful family
medicine practice in Yucaipa, California. He encourages other Western
University of Health Sciences alumni to give back to their alma mater.
                                                                               “I value this education more
“I value this education more and more each year. It has made me want to
continue to support the campus that gave me the opportunity to fulfill my and more each year. It has
goals,” he said. “Now it is time for me to help other students and future
doctors attain their wishes and their passion.” made me want to continue
Maged and his wife, Dalia, are longtime supporters of COMP and to support the campus that
WesternU, having established an endowment, and are always looking for
other ways to support the University. One major impetus was when they gave me the opportunity to

        year, with their three daughters.

“Our three girls said, ‘We want to be here,’” Dalia said. “My kids were
really young. As a parent I saw in them how they want to do it. I thought
about how many people want to do this, but it is financially hard for them.
It’s really hard when you want to do something but money is an issue. We
have an opportunity to help. I think a lot people want to do something but
don’t know where to go or how to start. It’s good to be able to help in any
way, big or small. Anything helps.”
