Information for Authors and Artists
Humanism in the Health Sciences (HHS), an award-winning journal of Western University of Health Sciences (WesternU),
accepts the work of students, alumni, faculty and staff of WesternU. HHS is managed and edited by WesternU students,
faculty and staff. It is published annually and distributed free of charge to interested individuals and institutions
worldwide. The next issue is scheduled for publication in May 2019.
HHS publishes essays, short stories, artwork, photography, poetry, and letters. All submissions are reviewed by the
editorial board and should be relevant to the theme of the journal, health care practice, or WesternU. Articles and artwork
accepted for publication become the property of HHS and Western University of Health Sciences.
Text should be submitted as a Microsoft Word file. Photographs, illustrations and artwork should be submitted separately
as Adobe Photoshop (PSD), Adobe Illustrator (AI), EPS, JPG or TIF format via email to:
HumanismMagazine@westernu.edu
Deadline for submissions for the next issue is February 1, 2019*
