New Faculty


Marie L. Davies, PharmD, MS
Assistant Professor
Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration

Dr. Davies received her Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Science in Clinical
Research degrees from Campbell University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences
in Buies Creek, North Carolina. Prior to this she attended UC Davis for her Bachelor
of Science degree in Exercise Biology. Upon completing her PharmD, she then
completed her PGY-1 residency at the Durham VA Medical Center in Durham,
North Carolina and a PGY-2 specialty residency in Ambulatory Care at the
University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her clinical area of expertise is
in diabetes, hypertension, lipids, and heart failure. Her research interests are in
chronic disease state outcomes and scholarship of education.
Dr. Davies joined the College of Pharmacy in July, 2014. At WesternU she is co-
facilitating the OSCEs in the P2 and P3 years, as well as teaching pharmacy
calculations. Dr. Davies’ clinical practice site is with Harbor-UCLA Family Medicine
Clinic in Harbor City, CA. There, she will be taking WesternU student pharmacists
on APPE rotations and practicing in advanced ambulatory care, managing patients for diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia,
smoking cessation, and other chronic disease states such as asthma/COPD, BPH, mental illnesses, and pain. Outside of clinic and
teaching, she enjoys Crossfit, running, playing slow pitch softball, and she is loving the SoCal sun!
