Dr. Allen gives free physical exams to clients at Allen House every
Friday. He meets clients when they first enter the program, and
he and Alice attend most of the graduation ceremonies, said L.A.
CADA Executive Director Juan Navarro.
“He sees firsthand the progress the person makes, both physically
and emotionally, as far as making the changes they need to make
to go back into the community once they graduate,” Navarro
said. “By the time they leave, they are usually working or going
back to school.”
They all know Dr. and Mrs. Allen,
which sends a strong message,
