COMP-Northwest student Kristina Van Nuys described the lecture
series as a monthly Thanksgiving feast.
“We are here like one awesome family. We meal prep, cook, and
have this meal together as a family, and we get to learn and go
forward and bring healthy lifestyles to our future patients,” Van
Nuys said. “The donation helps us, but it also helps the community
of Lebanon because they come to the lectures, and it reaches even
farther because it will reach all of the patients we will go out and
see. It goes far past these halls.”
Bob’s Red Mill Director of Corporate Outreach Lori Sobelson, LHD
(Hon.), visited the Lebanon campus in September 2018 to bring
the donated equipment and nonperishable food to the school. Her
Bob’s Red Mill van was greeted by more than 100 students, staff
and faculty, who had gathered outside the building to thank the
company for the donation.
“I have a passion for nutrition. I’m in the right business. Thank you
again for the warm reception and the love and for teaching the
importance of nutrition,” Sobelson told the crowd. “I don’t know
that I’ve ever had such a warm welcome.”
COMP and COMP-Northwest Dean Paula M. Crone, DO ’92,
lauded the company and Sobelson for their support of the medical
school.
