I Walk the Path of Medicine
Where once we played with medical toys,
I walk the path of medicine, Now we claim the real things.
Deceptively lonely, but ’tis not, Reality ensues: I’ll be a doc—
Meander through the nodes and rami Oh crap, don’t know what to do!

           Through means abstract and real                        No one ’live is born a hero;
Though ’tis lonely, the path of med, Our heroes are of our own.
’tis lined with windows, doors abound. For what is a hero but a title ’stowed
I need simply know I can step beyond ’pon those embody what we love?

And rejoice that I this path can go.

                                                                  A Simple Act
           Dangerous to go Alone
We in med’ school, college, may not heal
“Dangerous to go alone,” Like the folks there on TV

said every elder to MC But it doesn’t take a drama’ act
Timeless advice for kobolds, wraiths; To uplift those today.
Timeless still for OMS. To find and cure a cancer’s great
Adventurers, we bound from site to site But ’fore we shoot too far
Each with names wondrously strange Sometimes a word, a smile (will) do

Yet forgettable checkpoints these are not; A world of good, though small.
Such is the weight for those who chase We’ve all our parts to play
The coveted “medicine master”. Whether grand or narrow or small

Even fools can save a life
