Bertone, DVM, MS, DACVIM, also heads to Siena every
summer, but not as a spectator. Bertone has for 20 years
been the veterinarian for one of the 17 fiercely
competitive neighborhoods that participate in the
race.
The Palio is made up of two races, each tied to a
religious festival, one on July 2 and the other on
August 16. Bertone is there for both.
