They say the Eyes are Windows Soul
By Lisa Nguyen, COMP student
They say the eyes are windows soul—
I say soul shows so much more.
For a human, ’live or dead, is not the less
Possessed of exploded skull.
’Tis not hard to imagine there,
Callused hands and lively laugh,
In these too the soul is bared,
Inviting curiousness and care.
Look
By Monica Gupta, COMP student
As you hold still,
the swish-swing of the wind
catches the machinery of the metronome
in your core
Overwhelms it
tosses its minutia
into a jumble, strings and strongholds
tumble atop one another,
blazing leaves strewn
in a cold grass field
in fall.
As you breathe,
your lungs sway and swing
to the rhythm of your soul,
begging you, with every liter of oxygen they fetch you,
to pause
to ask for more
than simply air and water and sound
from this vast world in which you glean,
By Anthony Rosefeld, COMP student
back arched in misty fields, bent low.
Look up, my friend. Dust off your shoulders
And find what you sought in darkness
All aglow.
