Honors Day

W $300,000 in scholarships were awarded to selected student pharmacists, and COP staff and faculty achievements were
esternU’s College of Pharmacy (COP) hosted its annual Honors Day on Thursday, April 2nd, this year, where over
recognized as well. Additionally, COP student pharmacists were recognized for their participation in the Pomona Health Career
Ladder program, for their selection to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, and for their
commitment to community service (receiving a Dean’s Letter for Community Service). Students achieving academic success in the
top ten percent of their class were recognized on the Dean’s List. Scholarships awarded included those from Albertsons/Sav-on,
Cardinal Health, CVS Charitable Trust, Good Neighbor Pharmacy, Ralphs Pharmacy, Rite Aid Foundation, Rosenberg
Endowed, Rx Prep, Safeway Pharmacy, Target, Dr. Fidel Valenzuela Endowment, Walgreens, and Walmart. Other scholarships
included those from the California Korean American Pharmacists Association, the Indian Pharmacists Association, the
Vietnamese Pharmacists Association as well as the Melanie S. Lim Endowed Scholarship, the Las Familias Chan y Mah
scholarship and the Dean’s Merit Scholarship.
