Acute Care The WesternU College of Pharmacy celebrated another year-end for the

residents and fellows on Thursday, June 18, 2015. This past year (2014-

Geriatrics completing their programs: Kimberly Appleby, PharmD; Mehgan
Preceptor: Janice Hoffman Hassanzadah, PharmD, MS; Ginnie Kim, PharmD; Paideia Le, PharmD;
Raynold Yin, PharmD; and Juanqi Zhu, PharmD. Two fellows are
Collete Bibayan, PharmD continuing on to their second year of fellowship: Yuna Bae, PharmD, and
Community Pharmacy WesternU Youngil Chang, PharmD, MS. To date, 45 residents and fellows have
Preceptor: Karl Hess graduated since 2003.
This past year, two PGY1 residencies (Acute Care directed by Dr. Mark
Fellows Nguyen and Geriatrics directed by Dr. Janice Hoffman) were both granted
a 3-year accreditation by American Society of Health System Pharmacists
David B. Lash, PharmD, MPH (ASHP). In addition, a PGY1 (Post-Graduate Year 1) Community
Cardiology Outcomes Pharmacy Residency in Partnership with Ralphs Pharmacy, directed by
Preceptor: Cynthia Jackevicius Dr. Micah Hata, was granted a pre-candidate status by ASHP and will be
having an accreditation visit during the Spring of 2016. Currently, the
Youngil Chang, PharmD, MS College of Pharmacy has four accredited PGY1 residencies, one candidate
Pharmacogenomics and Transplant status PGY1 residency, and two American College of Clinical Pharmacy
Preceptor: David Min (ACCP) peer-reviewed research fellowships.
