MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN
College of Osteopathic
Medicine of the Pacific
June 5, 2015 will mark the first Commencement ceremony at
our Lebanon, Oregon campus (COMP-Northwest). The
excitement surrounding completion of the first full cycle of
students at COMP-Northwest is growing every day. Looking
back, it seemed that this day was a far-off dream. Now, we
remember the past and look to the future as 96 students will
receive their Doctorates in Osteopathic Medicine.
Our student government leadership teams are setting new
standards for excellence. After initially meeting in Seattle at the
OMED Conference, OMSII Class Presidents from both campuses
arranged site visits and lectures from AOA President Robert
Juhasz, DO. Dr. Juhasz availed himself to the students, providing
information, insight and inspiration.
We’ve recently added a dynamic individual to the COMP
Executive Leadership Team. Di Lacey has been named Assistant
Vice President for the Oregon campus. Di most recently served
Paula M. Crone, DO in various executive roles for PeaceHealth in Oregon, and is an
adjunct faculty member and lecturer for COMP-Northwest. She
will be instrumental in managing our internal programs such as
the Healthy Living and Wellness Initiative (HLWI), as well as our
Medical Anatomy Center (MAC). External initiatives will include
working alongside the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of
Oregon (OPSO), the Oregon Veterans Administration, and
Oregon State University, to name a few.
After years of service, we honor Dr. Richard Sugerman and Dr.
James Martin as they announce their retirements. These
gentlemen were instrumental in the growth of COMP Pomona.
